The NBA has lot of rising stars and Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic is certainly among them. Where does he rank among the top young players to build around? One expert seems to think he tops the list.
Brett Siegel of NBA Analysis Network analyzed the four best players under the age of 25 to build a roster around. Luka Doncic topped the list with Zion Williamson, Jayson Tatum, and Donovan Mitchell each making the cut behind him.
Luka Doncic just makes everything look so effortless when he is out there and from his first game in the NBA, he just looked so comfortable on the court. He has continued to improve and get better and it is just a matter of time before Doncic is named the league MVP.
Entering the season, he was a favorite to win the award this year, but given the Mavericks’ struggles at times this season, it is hard to imagine that he would win the award since his team is not one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
Siegel noted that Luka Doncic isn’t just among the top rising stars in the NBA. Instead, he is right up there with MVP candidates including LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Stephen Curry.
Overall though, Luka Doncic himself is not only one of the best young players in the entire league, but he is right up there with the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James and Steph Curry for being the best player in the league period.
There is a lot to be excited about when it comes to constructing a roster around Luka Doncic. His dynamic off-the-dribble shooting ability when coupled with his elite facilitation ability makes for quite the start to an intriguing half-court offense.
It seems almost inevitable that Luka Doncic will manage to win an MVP award at some point in his NBA career, if not multiple. It will be fascinating to see how the Dallas Mavericks manage to surround him. With superstars teaming up in big market cities, will the Mavs be able to win a championship? Only time will tell.
